Joel,

The Microsoft products on your phone are definitely be helpful. If you can swing it in the future I would recommend the web package. Not only can I send data I can read all my blog feeds through the mobile Google Reader site.

Although it's no iPhone my Q9C has changes some things for me since upgrading to it just three or four months ago. I don't have the web package, but I did get a free month trial when I bought it and I found myself constantly looking things up on wikipedia or checking my email - something that is great to have on a phone so that like you said, you're not stuck to the desktop. But I still get alot of new things out of my phone, such as a much more friendly organization system with Windows Mobile. I also have Mobile Word, Excel, Powerpoint and PDF, so I can open up word at any time and type notes (which I do frequently, such as driving by a business I'd like to market to, or writting down web address to look up later, or making note of movies to add to my Netlix cue). Most of all I think it's really cool having a full QWERT keyboard to type with. And, since I don't yet have an ipod or MP3 player, I love having Windows Media player on my phone.
